Help your county party organize for upcoming events

We need you! Come out on Feb. 27 to help us build power through outreach and development, as we discuss volunteer opportunities including:

  • Get-out-the-vote efforts for progressive candidates in the April election.
  • Tabling at the Dane County Farmers Market.
  • Raising funds at a huge yard sale at the Labor Temple.

We'll also discuss new committees for engaging voters and recruiting candidates outside of Madison, building membership, improving communications, and coordinating with many like-minded organizations around the Resistance and other activities. We'll finalize some of these plans at our April 12 membership meeting, after the spring election.

The room was packed to overflowing for our Feb. 8 membership meeting, as many new faces joined veteran party activists to address our normal business but also the extraordinary challenge of the Trump presidency.

During our February meeting, we'll hear from Verona Alder Elizabeth Doyle on the need for affordable housing, and its interconnectedness with equity issues like access to education, jobs, transportation, and public services. 

We'll also vote on spring election endorsements, and we will discuss ways to resist Trump while building progressive electoral power. Please come!

Due to the winter advisory of icy road conditions that will go until Midnight, tonight's Monthly Membership Meeting is cancelled. We will take up this month's business at our February meeting.

January membership meeting

We'll discuss the upcoming DNC officer elections with Jason Rae, one of Wisconsin's DNC members and a candidate for secretary. We'll also hear about state and local spring races, and our endorsement process. And we'll deal with other county party business, including efforts to build power through membership and outreach.

Volunteer to watch the recount

Holiday party is Dec. 11

You are invited to the Dane Dems annual holiday party and fundraiser. There will be a short formal program, but mostly this is a chance to socialize and support the party, as we move toward spring elections here and a stance of resistance nationally. The Clinton-Feingold Coordinated Campaign is in full swing. Phone banks and canvasses, the backbone of the field effort, are going on every day, along with occasional special events.
