Update: If you're downtown after work or just want to come to the meeting a little early, drop by the bar at the Concourse, where a few board members and others will be, starting at 6 p.m. This is a soft launch of an idea to have pre-meeting social opportunities.
In the first quarter of 2017, while we were mainly focused on the spring election, we collected ideas for how to improve and extend the party's work to build progressive power. Now we are turning our full attention to those ideas.
At our April meeting, we'll have a Democratic Party 101 session, largely organized by new party members, to help orient other new members and veterans alike to the workings of the party. After that we will have breakout sessions to work on topic areas that both rank-and-file and board members have suggested, including:
- Voting rights/registration
- The resistance in Dane County
- Campaigns (focusing on rural Dane County)
- Assistance for candidates and parties outside the county
- Outreach to value-allied groups
- Membership and development
- Opposition research
We'll also hear from candidates running for chair of the 2nd Congressional District Party, and from candidates running for first vice chair of the state party.
Hope to see you there!
